Leak Beeper Continues to Deliver Dramatic Water Savings to Nashville Apartment Building

Franklin, Tennessee-based Leak Beeper installed their patented, toilet-leak detection devices in Metro Manor Apartments, a 170-unit building in Nashville, Tennessee over a 3 week period from mid-October to early November. With 9 months of complete usage data available after the installation, the Leak Beeper was able to reduce the building’s water consumption by a monthly average of 37%.

Specifically, gallons of water used per-unit; per-day fell from a pre-installation average of 81.9 gallons to a post-installation average of 52 gallons. Pre-installation average total gallons per day used by the building fell from 13,930 gallons to a post-installation average if 8,803. Metro Manor’s water bill has correspondingly fallen by an average of $1,123 per-month.

Leak Beeper is also collecting data from a January, 2009 installation at the 86-room Marriott Towneplace Suites Buckhead in Atlanta, and a June installation at the Courtyard by Marriott- San Francisco. Upcoming installations are scheduled for the Country Inn and Suites, and Microtel Inn & Suites, both in Atlanta, and the Courtyard by Marriott- Memphis.

The Leak Beeper is a patented, water-saving device that detects all of the leaks possible in a toilet’s water tank. The Leak Beeper’s probe detects “Normal” and “Abnormal” water flows that come into the toilet’s water tank via the refill tube and silently signals maintenance personnel. This method of leak detection is unique and is patented.

The Leak Beeper was named a New and Innovative Product at the 2008 Water Smart Innovations Expo in Las Vegas. An advanced version of the Leak Beeper will be on display at Booth #515 at the 2009 Water Smart Expo at the South Point Hotel in Las Vegas from October 7th to 9th, 2009.
